About Me

Leigh Sindelar, LCSW

Hi, I’m Leigh, and one of the main reasons I became a therapist is simple: everyone has a story, and I love hearing people’s stories. I believe our experiences shape us in powerful ways, and it’s an honor to walk alongside people as they share their journey and discover their next steps forward.

I received both my Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees from Saint Louis University and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois in 2023. Most of my career has been in hospice and palliative care, where I support individuals and families navigating serious illness and end-of-life transitions. That work taught me so much about resilience, connection, and the importance of living in alignment with what matters most. In my private practice, I’m excited to bring that same compassion and perspective to a broader range of people seeking support.

My passion for this work is also personal—I’ve had my own experiences navigating physical and mental health challenges, and I know how meaningful it can be to have a supportive space during difficult times.

When I’m not doing therapy, you’ll usually find me living, working, and playing around Belleville! I love being part of a community and spending time with friends, family, and my cats. I also enjoy carving out time for myself with morning runs or long walks, catching live music, or planning my next travel adventure.

If you’re considering therapy, know that you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes the first step is simply sharing your story—and I’d be honored to listen.
